Important
Points to Note When Writing and Signing a Will
·
In paragraph 1 , you, XYZ (called the testator),
revoked your previous Will i.e. all your previous Will had been cancelled
·
In paragraph 2, you gave all your assets to ABC. He is your beneficiary (a
beneficiary is someone who will be given some or all of your assets after
your death)). You have also appointed ABC to be your executor (call her
executrix if she is female) i.e. someone who will take care of all your
assets after your death
·
In paragraph 3, he is not required to sell your
property immediately after your death
·
The Will must be signed in the presence of 2 other
witnesses. These two witnesses must be above 21 years old and of sound mind.
They must not be the beneficiary i.e. the person who will benefit from your
Will or the executor
·
Keep your Will in a safe place
·
Make sure your executor or someone in your family
knows where you kept your Will
