Fad Diets

'Eating right' poses a great challenge to many of us. In major bookstores in Singapore, one will read about the different types of diet advocated by best-sellers such as :

  • Dr Robert Atkins' New Diet Revolution

  • Barry Sears' Enter the Zone

  • Peter J. D'Adamo's Eat Right for Your Type

If you are a keen supporter of any of the above diet regimens, perhaps you might like to read the negative findings on them in the book - 'The Food Revolution: How Your Diet Can Help Save Your Life and the World' by John Robbins.

Many organizations, including the World Health Organization, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Dietetic Association, the office of the Surgeon General of the United States, and the American Institute for Cancer Research have opposed high-protein, high-fat, low-carbohydrate diets.
