I am thankful to be given the rare opportunity by Tan Tock Seng Hospital to speak at its inaugural Singapore Patient Conference with the theme, “Connecting with Patients and Community” on the topic: “My story as a patient advocate: The rising phoenix” on 25 October 2013.

To complement my sharing, I wrote this booklet to urge compassionate doctors, caring nurses, patients/families and like-minded individuals to come together to make patient advocacy work.
