Where you can learn CPR
Ideally, everyone of us should equip with skills to render first aid in times of emergency, for example attending to wounds, fractures, burns and individuals who suffered heart attacks. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) is a life saving skill, which may help to revive a casualty who has stopped breathing, in cases of a heart attack or a stroke.
The goal of CPR is to restore circulation. If you are unable to find a pulse in an unconscious person, heart compression is necessary to restore circulation. These compressions must be coordinated with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation: the breathing delivers air to the lungs; heart massage pumps the oxygenated blood to the brain and other parts of the body.
The most effective way to learn CPR is to attend short courses conducted by the Singapore Red Cross Society. The Singapore Red Cross Society offers short courses on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
